Job Description

As a Principal Structural Designer at Expleo, you will play a key role in ensuring the technical requirements of our projects are met. You will work closely with the project team to integrate all technical functions and develop capabilities to support the project.

Responsibilities
  • Integrate technical functions to ensure technical requirements are met
  • Develop capabilities to support the project
  • Support checking of deliverables
  • Support continuous process improvement
  • Be the technical focal point of the team and build good working relationships with customers
  • Provide advice and support to team leaders and members
  • Consult on planning activities and impact of additional scope and change
  • Work with the Technical Authority and functional team to provide technical governance
  • Support and identify cost-saving initiatives
  • Support development of team members
Qualifications
  • HNC/HND/Degree in mechanical engineering
Essential Skills
  • Experience of marine hardware, systems requirements, and standards
  • Experience in leading engineering teams to deliver complex multi-functional projects
  • Strong engineering background for the capabilities listed
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing engineering role
  • Marine Defence experience preferred
Experience
  • 10+ years of marine design, preferably with subsurface experience
