Job Title: Engineering Resource Coordinator

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Resource Coordinator to join our Highways Team. As a key member of our team, you'll work strategically on the works programme and contractors resource planning and application, ensuring optimal utilisation of company resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage allocation of operational resources to ensure safe and successful delivery of schemes works program, routine works, and bridges.
  • Liaise with Agents and Supervisors to identify and effectively manage allocation of operational resources.
  • Support Programme and Resource Manager in all aspects of scheme identification, development, and planning to ensure budget delivery.
  • Assist in the management of all Norfolk programmes and resources, working collaboratively with contract partners to support project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Tarmac Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements and company procedures.
  • Develop Scheme documentation and Traffic management proposals.
  • Effectively plan and programme works, assisting Contracts Managers in the delivery of workstreams.
  • Support the management of programmes and contractors resource plan, which is agreed, maintained, and communicated contract-wide.
  • Work within agency and sub-contract requirements to optimise profitability.
  • Monitor resource allocation through liaison with operational teams, with weekly reviews of resource allocation and link to commercials team.

Requirements:

  • Good organisational and people management skills.
  • Experience in a people scheduling or resource planning environment.
  • Commercial and Contractual awareness, with persuasiveness and negotiating skills.
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills, with a confident and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral at all levels.
  • IT Literate, with proficiency in Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Operational technical Knowledge (e.g., material types, plant, etc) – not essential.
  • Ability to be proactive and use initiative.
