Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients in our community and in-patient settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Old Age Psychiatry, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement care plans for patients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they receive the best possible care.
- Work closely with our community teams to provide outpatient clinics and domiciliary visits, ensuring that patients receive seamless care across settings.
- Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of best practices in Old Age Psychiatry.
- Teach and mentor junior doctors and medical students, sharing your expertise and knowledge to support their development.
About the Role
This is a part-time Consultant position, working 8 sessions per week. You will be based at University Hospital Llandough, working closely with our team to provide input to in-patients across five wards. You will also be responsible for covering community work, including outpatient clinics and domiciliary visits.
Requirements
- Comprehensive training and experience as a Specialty Registrar or equivalent in Old Age Psychiatry.
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding of the role of audit in improving medical practice.
- Evidence of teaching medical students and junior doctors.
