About the Role

As a specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will lead group therapeutic sessions in a purpose-built 75-bed hospital for individuals with mental health problems. The hospital collaborates with reputable trusts like Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Foundation Trust, Cornwall Foundation Trust, 2gether Foundation Trust, Cygnet Healthcare, and Live Well to provide comprehensive care.

You will work closely with service users to develop and improve their speech and communication skills through one-to-one rapport building. Your caseload management expertise will enable you to complete assessments, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes aligned to care plans.

The role emphasizes teamwork and offers support from a regional network of healthcare professionals. You will also have access to various training courses to enhance your career development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate expertise in managing complex cases, cultural differences, and linguistic variations to optimize caseload management.
  • Conduct audits and contribute to research in treatment provision.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of mental health care services.
Requirements:
  • HCPC registration.
  • Experience in managing dysphagia assessment and treatment caseloads.
  • Experience working with families.
  • Evidence of ongoing Professional Development.
