Group Head of Underwriting Governance

We are seeking an experienced governance professional to enhance the underwriting management function within our busy and fast-paced MGA. The successful candidate will report to the Group Head of Underwriting, working closely with the Chief Underwriting Officers and the Underwriting Senior Leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Set group underwriting standards of Governance and Oversight.
- Ensure regional execution, underwriting and Governance.
- Oversee the regional effectiveness of peer review, underwriting authority management exception reporting and underwriting breaches.
- Ensure that processes are robust and are being executed upon with regular evidence.
- Process regular control reports of performance.
- Liaise with regional CUO's and regional underwriting committees to obtain information.
- Record keeping and documentation to a high standard.
- Liaise with internal audit around control environment.
- Keep pace with ERICCA our enterprise risk framework.
- Ensure that we are able to attest to our internal controls.
- A wealth of experience in underwriting governance, including proven experience in a senior position undertaking the role described here. (in MGA or insurance company)
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting practices.
- Detailed knowledge of insurance sector.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Highly efficient administration.
- Ability to work with senior people.
