Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced governance professional to enhance the underwriting management function within our busy and fast-paced MGA. The successful candidate will report to the Group Head of Underwriting, working closely with the Chief Underwriting Officers and the Underwriting Senior Leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • To establish and maintain group underwriting standards of governance and oversight.
  • To ensure regional execution, underwriting, and governance are aligned with group objectives.
  • To oversee the regional effectiveness of peer review, underwriting authority management, exception reporting, and underwriting breaches.
  • To ensure processes are robust and being executed upon with regular evidence.
  • To process regular control reports of performance.
  • To liaise with regional CUO's and regional underwriting committees to obtain information.
  • To maintain accurate and detailed records and documentation.
  • To liaise with internal audit around control environment.
  • To stay up-to-date with ERICCA, our enterprise risk framework.
  • To ensure we can attest to our internal controls.
Requirements
  • A wealth of experience in underwriting governance, including proven experience in a senior position undertaking the role described here.
  • In-depth knowledge of underwriting practices.
  • Detailed knowledge of the insurance sector.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly efficient administration.
  • Ability to work with senior people.
