Theatre Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Support Worker to join the excellent Theatre team at St Hugh's Hospital.
Main Responsibilities- To assist the Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner in delivering high-quality patient care by undertaking non-clinical duties under supervision.
- To ensure the cleanliness and organization of the Theatre Department, including the care and maintenance of equipment in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.
- To be conversant with all aspects of the Stores ordering system, stock levels, and supply in the Theatre Department.
- To liaise between Theatres and the ward to escort patients to Theatre prior to their operation.
- To participate in quality assurance initiatives and audits as required.

Key Accountabilities- Ensure any accidents or incidents are reported and recorded according to Hospital policy and procedure.
- Ensure that the Theatre Department is clean and tidy at all times.
- Assist Nursing staff in preparing instruments for the next day's Operating List.
- Attend infection control updates and serve as a link person for the department.
- Ensure all documentation is completed correctly and available for audit purposes.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic IT skills.
- The ability to plan and control the use of resources.
Experience
- Previous experience in managing stock control.

- Organized.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to use own initiative.
