About the Role

The IS Manager – Web is a senior role in the Booker IS team responsible for delivering effective, secure, and efficient digital systems to improve customer satisfaction and cash profit.

The role is accountable for the delivery of all projects for our digital systems, ensuring that projects delivering new features on the Booker web sites and apps are delivered on time and to a high standard.

The role directly handles the internal web project team, external engineering teams, and collaborates closely with external service providers who provide infrastructure and software technical support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage teams that build and run multiple B2B or B2C websites.
  • Have a good understanding of running enterprise-scale commerce websites supporting a high-volume transactional business.
  • Drive to succeed and deliver projects, and to transition smoothly into ongoing service management.
  • Build consensus within the development and support teams to ensure the right solutions are delivered, to the right quality, tracking progress, and ensuring they are delivered at pace.
  • Have a solid technical background in software development, project management, and support provision.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with business partners.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills, being able to communicate effectively and efficiently taking into account the nature of the audience.
  • Have good technical documentation skills, reviewing/writing user documentation with development teams and specialists.
  • Have good problem-solving and analysis skills.
  • Have commercial competence and know-how.
  • Have a shown 'hands-on' track record of delivering digital solutions within a pressurized environment.
  • Have excellent technical project management background with successful delivery of change programs to time, quality, and budget.
  • Have a good understanding of IT security and data privacy standards.
  • Have strong people management skills, with demonstrable ability to recruit and establish teams, and effectively lead their capability and performance.
  • Have consistent track records of building strong working relationships with external development teams.
  • Design and build systems for scalability, availability, and performance, testing everything and trying to automate everything.
  • Have consistent delivery of results.
