About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager to lead on programme management, commissioning, policy, and development of new work across the VRU's education portfolio. The successful candidate will have experience of working in/with the education sector, with a good grasp of education policy, evidence, and research as it pertains to inclusion and violence/harm reduction.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for leading on the management of three large programmes: AP/PRU Mentoring Programme, Difference Matters Pilot, and the UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Award. They will also work with the Senior Programme Manager to promote and embed London's Inclusion Charter across the education sector, and with policy makers and borough education teams.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding and knowledge of violence reduction and prevention best evidence-based practice, and how to work through a public health approach to achieve the VRU's priorities for violence reduction across London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on programme management, commissioning, policy, and development of new work across the VRU's education portfolio
  • Manage the evaluation and learning partners attached to the programmes
  • Scope and commission new evaluation and learning partners
  • Work with the Senior Programme Manager to promote and embed London's Inclusion Charter across the education sector
  • Collaborate with policy makers and borough education teams

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in/with the education sector
  • Good grasp of education policy, evidence, and research as it pertains to inclusion and violence/harm reduction
  • Proven ability to lead on programme management, commissioning, policy, and development
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of violence reduction and prevention best evidence-based practice
  • Ability to work through a public health approach to achieve the VRU's priorities for violence reduction across London
