About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team at the Structural Engineering Alliance Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking designs on a variety of projects from small domestic extensions to large multistorey apartment and office developments.

Working closely with our experienced engineers, you will have the opportunity to develop your design experience and skills, and be supported to obtain accreditation to the Institute of Structural Engineers. With project costs up to £12m and the use of the latest design software, this role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use the latest design software to create and manage designs.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG SSG etc.
  • Problem solver able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
  • Good time management and organizational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • A good knowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standards and EU regulations.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
