Assistant Underwriter, Property

Munich Re Specialty Group is seeking an Assistant Underwriter to support the Delegated Property Underwriters in the prudent underwriting of quality Property business.

The successful candidate will assist in the effective management of property binders, including performance monitoring, EPI monitoring, referrals, bordereaux management, rate movement, claims trends, regular reviews, underwriter visits, and audits.

Key responsibilities include assisting in the underwriting of new and renewal Property binders, exercising judgment in all underwriting matters, and remaining aware of own underwriting limits as set out on the Underwriting Authority sheet.

The role also involves accurate and timely data entry of all Property risks in line with Syndicate procedures, reviewing slips and endorsements along with other placing information and literature, and working with Property Team colleagues to ensure the account remains within the Underwriting business plan.

Additionally, the Assistant Underwriter will regularly monitor the written and signed premium income of the Property account, manage risk management surveys, and provide supporting data and reports for team meetings, internal and external meetings, and business plans as and when required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Property risks D&F open market and/or delegated property business, as well as underlying principles of insurance, legal principles, FCA, PRA, and Lloyd's rules and regulations.
