The National Probation Service (NPS), Norfolk County Council have partnered with St Andrew's Healthcare to deliver Community Sentence treatment Requirements as part of a Mental Health Treatment Requirement initiative.
This is a unique opportunity to work as an assistant psychologist embedded in probation offices under the guidance and supervision of qualified psychologists from St Andrew's Healthcare.
As an assistant psychologist, you will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Criminal Justice System (CJS); providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
You will work independently according to a plan agreed with the psychologist and within the overall framework of MHTRs, and St Andrew's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychological assessment and interventions to clients within the CJS
- Work under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the psychologist
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to MHTRs
Requirements:
- Qualification in psychology or a related field
- Experience working in a mental health setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
