Workshop Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Workshop Controller to join our team at Wessex Garages Holdings Ltd.
About the Role
As a Workshop Controller, you will work closely with the Service Manager to deliver exceptional productivity and quality of work, ensuring a clean, safe, and professional workshop environment.
This role is ideal for a motivated and quick-thinking individual with previous experience in the motor industry, looking to develop their career and take on a management role. You should be able to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and effectively communicate with colleagues and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices to meet targets and business objectives.
- Ensure all servicing work is carried out correctly, competently, and on time, with customer satisfaction in mind.
- Maintain accurate records of technician time and write technical reports and recommendations.
- Assist technicians with technical challenges and find effective solutions.
- Provide estimates for servicing and repairs and set realistic timescales.
- Schedule work to meet customer needs, taking into account workshop targets, job complexity, and part availability.
Essential Skills
- Relevant experience in the automotive industry, including previous workshop control or technician roles.
- High levels of organization and accuracy.
- Strong IT skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate the team to achieve targets and deliver high-quality work.
