Job Description:

  • As an Electronics Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for operating fixturing/tooling or hand-held electronic equipment (Voltmeter, Caliper, Oscilloscope) to test cable assembly or electronic assembly boxes.
  • You will manually solder small electronic components (using a microscope) onto Printed Circuit Boards (resistors, capacitors, dies).
  • You will perform visual inspection using a microscope (20x magnification) for dies, resistors, capacitors to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • You will implement a systematic problem-solving approach to find root causes and make correction plans for equipment/material/process issues.
  • You will work with Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve issues with released products.
  • You will handle or attach small components (die, capacitors, resistors) using tweezers and in-house build fixtures.
  • You will perform visual inspection IQC (incoming quality inspection)/OQC (outgoing quality inspection) on raw parts (flex, PCBA, silicon substrate).
  • You will handle dilute chemical solutions (IPA, DI water, Acetone, epoxy) to clean products.
  • You will perform functional tests on products.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A relevant HNC/HND qualification in Electrical, Electronic Engineering (or similar subject) or an equivalent level qualification.
  • Experience in electronic assembly, PCB assembly, and soldering.
  • Excellent analytical and fault-finding skills.
  • The ability to utilize electrical and mechanical schematics to rectify faults and defects.
  • Knowledge of how to operate fixturing/tooling or hand-held electronic equipment (Voltmeter, Caliper, Oscilloscope).
  • Strong communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues in your own and wider team.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or shop-floor environment. Clean room experience is desirable.
  • Familiarity with handling wafers/substrates.
  • Experience with MS Office products.
