Electronic Assembly Technician

At KLA-TENCOR LIMITED, we design and develop high-tech capital equipment for the global semiconductor industry. As an Electronic Assembly Technician, you will work in our high-performing manufacturing team to build and assemble complex processing equipment.
Job OverviewThis is a permanent position working Monday to Friday with occasional international travel required for role-related training. The successful candidate will be based at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Newport, South Wales.
The estimated salary for this role is around £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
You will have the opportunity to work with innovative technology and learn precision automated manufacturing processes.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include operating fixturing/tooling or hand-held electronic equipment to test cable assembly or electronic assembly boxes, manual soldering small electronic components onto Printed Circuit Boards, visual inspection using a microscope for dies, resistors, capacitors, and implementing systematic problem-solving approaches to find root causes and make correction plans.
Requirements- HNC/HND qualified in Electrical, Electronic Engineering (or similar subject) or hold equivalent level qualification.
- Ideal experience in electronic assembly, PCB assembly, and soldering.
- Excellent analytical and fault-finding skills.
- Able to utilise electrical and mechanical schematics to rectify faults and defects.
- Strong communication skills.
You will enjoy establishing and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues in your own and wider team.
