About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our ecology team, you will be responsible for leading on nationally important infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on nationally significant infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets.
- Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertake stakeholder engagement.
- Plan, coordinate and undertake field surveys, analysing and interpreting survey results using approaches such as biodiversity net gain or natural capital.
- Design and coordinate ecological mitigation.
- Author and check a range of ecological reports and licence applications.
- Manage work enquiries, prepare bids and build client relationships.
Requirements:
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), chartership, or being on the route to chartership (AtkinsRéalis to cover membership costs).
- A degree in ecology or closely related field.
- Demonstrable specialist ecological knowledge, either as a species specialist or generalist.
- Strong commercial skills.
- FISC level 4 would be particularly desirable but not essential.
- Natural Resources Wales / Natural England bat survey licence level 2 (or equivalent) would be particularly desirable but not essential.
- A full, clean driving licence.
