Job Title: Senior Ecologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team in the Midlands region. As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for leading on nationally important infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets, and collaborating with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertaking stakeholder engagement.
About the Role:
- Lead on nationally important infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets.
- Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertake stakeholder engagement.
- Plan, coordinate, and undertake field surveys, analyse and interpret survey results using approaches such as biodiversity net gain or natural capital.
- Design and coordinate ecological mitigation.
- Author and check a range of ecological reports and licence applications.
- Manage work enquiries, prepare bids, and build client relationships.
About You:
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), chartership, or being on the route to chartership (AtkinsRéalis to cover membership costs).
- A degree in ecology or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable specialist ecological knowledge, either as a species specialist or generalist.
- Strong commercial skills.
- FISC level 4 would be particularly desirable but not essential.
- Natural England bat survey licence level 2 would be particularly desirable but not essential.
- A full, clean driving licence.

Security Clearance:
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
