Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Computational Research Scientist to join our team at Hlx Life Sciences. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and validating cutting-edge computational and machine learning frameworks for hyperspectral imaging data.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape real-time surgical guidance technology by developing innovative methods for hyperspectral imaging data processing. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing algorithms for hyperspectral image data processing, including low-level image reconstruction, deep learning-based tissue property estimation, semantic segmentation, and stereo vision reconstruction for multi-view surgical guidance.
  • Collaborating with our talented team of scientists and engineers to develop prototype and clinical software.
  • Contributing to innovation by supporting patent filings and research publications.
  • Working closely with software development and regulatory teams to ensure seamless integration from R&D to deployment.

About You

  • You hold an MSc or PhD in Machine Learning, Medical Image Computing, Computer Vision, or a related technical discipline.
  • You have strong knowledge of machine learning and computer vision algorithms.
  • You possess experience with scientific software packages (e.g., PyTorch, OpenCV, Pandas, SciPy, NumPy, SciKit-learn).
  • You are familiar with standard software engineering practices (version control, software testing).
  • You excel in oral and written communication skills.
  • You have an analytical mindset, are detail-oriented, creative, and collaborative.
