About the Role
NHS England is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communications and Engagement Manager to join our team in the South East. As a key member of our regional team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engagement and communications services to support the region's business and statutory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert engagement and communications advice and support to the region on all aspects of their business.
- Develop and implement effective engagement and communications strategies to support the region's priorities and objectives.
- Manage local media inquiries and campaigns, and maintain excellent contacts and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with the national Public Accountability, Engagement and Communications Function, regional director and senior team to agree priorities and inform the region's engagement and communications strategy.
- Support the development of engagement and communications for specific projects and campaigns, and manage their effective implementation.

Person Specification
- Training or significant work-based experience in project management or supporting change management.
- Education to masters level or equivalent level of experience working at a senior level in a specialist area.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, delivering against competing priorities and deadlines while directing the work of teams/individuals.
- Experience of managing complex media enquiries and stakeholder issues in a communications role.
- Good understanding of varied communication channels, their impact, limitations, risks and opportunities, and good experience in their use.
