Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Accounts Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control, as well as excellent IT skills and exceptional administrative and organisational skills.

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our finance department, including raising and reviewing sales invoices, processing purchase invoices, and adding new supplier/customer details to our database.

Responsibilities

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Raising and reviewing sales invoices.
  • Processing purchase invoices and maintaining accurate records.
  • Adding new supplier/customer details to our database.
  • Calculating VAT on purchases and managing related documentation.
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and maintaining cash flow records.
  • Raising credit and debit notes for stock or VAT discrepancies.
  • Providing holiday cover within the finance team.
  • Managing credit card processing and maintaining the credit control sheet.
  • Supporting with general administration, filing, and incoming post.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2-3 years of experience in an Accounts Assistant role.
  • A strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Exceptional administrative and organisational skills.
  • Calm under pressure and skilled in negotiation.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive 'can-do' attitude.
