Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to fill the role of School Cover Manager at our secondary school in Cardiff. As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for coordinating cover for absent staff members, providing induction and support for supply teachers, and maintaining effective communication with SLT and office staff.

This is a Monday to Friday position with working hours of 8am-4pm. The successful candidate will be someone who is able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate cover for absent staff members.
  2. Provide induction and support for supply teachers.
  3. Ensure safeguarding requirements and relevant regulations are implemented.
  4. Maintain effective communication with SLT and office staff regarding school needs.
  5. Liaise with external stakeholders, including parents and supply agencies.
  6. Approve agency staff timesheets.
Requirements:
  • Administrative experience in an education setting.
  • Familiarity with SIMS (School Information Management Systems).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
