Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Maternity Administrator to join our team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a front-line reception service and administrative function to all areas of the maternity service.

Main Duties of the Job

The Maternity Administrator will be working in the Maternity Single Point of Care Office and will be expected to work dynamically across all areas of the service when required. This involves attending the main hospital building and providing administrative support to the maternity team.

The administrator will be responsible for collecting, investigating, verifying, and recording patient demographic and treatment data. They will accurately and in a timely manner enter this information on the computerized patient information system to ensure the trust receives the appropriate level of income for patient activity, avoids potential clinical risks, and is compliant with national NHS targets.

Person Specification

  • Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
  • NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent
  • Experience of working in a public/patient-facing role
  • Previous work experience in a receptionist or similar role

  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage and resolve difficult situations
