Job Description

Primary HV Plant Design Engineer

Coalesce Management Consulting is seeking a highly skilled HV Plant Design Engineer to join a project in the transmission network sector. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading the HV primary engineering design delivery for electrical substation projects up to 400kV.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the team in planning and procurement of substation projects
  • Approval of HV plant design deliverables, including single line diagrams, layout/elevation drawings, and SC force calculations
  • Advising on risks and mitigation measures
  • Leading the technical direction of the engineering team
  • Delivery of engineering design to programme, quality, and budgets
  • Identifying and effectively managing inter-disciplinary design gaps

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in TP137 contractors design approval engineers (CDAE) for National Grid projects
  • Knowledge of BIM 36-0 and TP137/SR188 Contractor Design Assurance Engineer
  • Proven experience in a responsible position and knowledge in HV substation equipment
  • National Grid exposure

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating workload and agreeing priorities within the Primary Plant Team
  • Preparing, contributing to, checking, and reviewing DEMP (Design and Engineering Management Plans)
  • Liaising and coordinating contract requirements with Design Engineers, Project, and engineering managers
