About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HV Design Engineer to join our team at Metlen Energy & Metals. As a key member of the Grid & Digital Solutions department within the M Power Projects division, you will play a crucial role in the construction of the EGL1 project, a collaborative effort between National Grid Electricity Transmission and SP Transmission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise engineering activities for the project, related to medium and high voltage systems
  • Review technical specifications in line with project technical requirements
  • Review drawings, schematics, cable lists, and wiring diagrams
  • Technical review and coordination of deliverable design documents from suppliers
  • Ensure compliance of final design documents and drawings with the technical specifications of the project owner
  • Be involved in interface and project meetings with equipment vendors, other design disciplines, and project owner representatives
  • Coordinate engineering activities for the project together with other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, civil, and architectural engineering
  • Provide technical assistance, support, and troubleshooting to the site construction team and site commissioning team
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in the power industry (HV/MV substations, power plants) and/or large-scale construction projects
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language
  • Experience in at least one field of medium or high voltage systems shall be considered an advantage
  • Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of at least one power systems analysis software (DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSS/E) shall be considered an advantage
  • Good background in electrical systems, familiar with international and European standards
