Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Chef De Partie to join our culinary team at Sudima Christchurch Airport Hotel. As a Chef De Partie, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, working closely with our Head Chef to ensure that our menu meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation and Production

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, as well as conferencing events.

Quality Control

Ensure that all food produced meets our high standards of quality, presentation, and cooking techniques.

Waste Management

Control wastage costs by following efficient preparation methods and minimizing food waste.

Food Safety and Hygiene

Ensure that all food is stored and handled in accordance with current food health and hygiene regulations.

Cleanliness and Organization

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment and section, at all times.

Teamwork and Communication

Work effectively with our culinary team to ensure seamless service and meet guest expectations.

Requirements

  • Experience and Qualifications

Minimum of 30 hours per week, previous experience as a Chef De Partie/Demi Chef in a busy a la carte operation, and a qualified culinary degree/certificate (preferred but not essential).

Availability and Flexibility

Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends, late nights, and public holidays.

Communication and Teamwork Skills

Open communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Guest Interaction

An engaging personality with the skills to interact with our guests and provide excellent service.

Problem-Solving and Planning

Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently, plan and delegate multiple tasks, and keep up with cooking trends and best practices.

Sanitation and Hygiene

Familiarity with sanitation regulations and the ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
