About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Theatre Support Worker at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our clinical staff in the operating department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of theatres for surgery, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of theatre and recovery areas, adhering to strict hygiene and infection control protocols.
  • Support the circulation team, assisting with the safe positioning of patients on the operating table and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the scrub team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient operating procedures.
  • Assist with the transportation and handling of specimens, blood, and other medical materials, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records, utilizing our electronic systems to ensure efficient data management.

Person Specification

  • NVQ/Diploma level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification, with competencies assessed in a healthcare environment.
  • Functional Skills level 1 Maths and English.
  • Experience as a Healthcare Support Worker or Trainee in a care setting or equivalent.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
