About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team at Nuffield Health Tees Hospital. As a key member of our Anaesthetic & Recovery team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our theatre department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing anaesthetic procedures, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the perioperative period.
  • Work collaboratively with anaesthetists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient theatre workflow.
  • Supervise and support junior members of staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and policies within the theatre department.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the maintenance of high standards of patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Theatre Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner.
  • Post-registration experience in anaesthetic and recovery nursing, with a strong understanding of theatre protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and shifts.
