Senior Pharmacist

Job Summary
The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a skilled pharmacist to lead the Trauma and Orthopaedic Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the department, including the management and provision of a high-quality pharmacy service to Trauma and Orthopaedics wards and specialties.
Main Duties
- Provide specialist clinical pharmacy service to T&O inpatient and elective pathways, major/emergency trauma services, including MTECU and St Cross surgical oversight.
- Work closely with T&O team, theatres, surgical specialties, critical care, and associated professional teams to improve the pharmaceutical care of patients.
- Be responsible for all aspects of Medicines Management and Optimisation within their areas.
- Lead on the provision of education to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical and medicines management aspects of their area.
- Support and lead on the development of service improvement projects in their directorate, such as pre-op clinics, day case pathways, and community diagnostic centre development.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including consultants, clinical fellows, specialist registrars, associate specialists, ACPs, and other staff grades.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical pharmacy, with experience in leading and managing teams, and a good working knowledge of general surgery, plastic surgery, and intensive care.
