Job PurposeAs a Data Centre Engineer, you will work within our FM Department, responsible for undertaking Data Centre planned maintenance, reactive calls, small Electrical installation projects, site surveys, and third-party contractor supervision. Your primary goal will be to ensure all site works are carried out in a safe and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plant and buildings, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of downtime.
- Respond to site facilities system failures, rectifying issues promptly and efficiently.
- Oversee contractors working on-site, ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are in place and work permits are issued.
- Work unsupervised on small installation projects, such as LV Electrical, Small Power, and Lighting, UPS installations, and other related tasks.
- Conduct site surveys, gather and present material lists and labour requirements for quotations.
- Ensure all tasks adhere to relevant compliances, including current legislation, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform fixed wiring testing and compliance with current IEE regulations.
- Have due regard for HASAWA, COSHH, and Electricity at Work Regulations, recommending remedial actions as necessary.
- Be available for call-out in the event of site facilities systems failures and participate in paid out-of-hours reactive attendance (on a rota basis).
- Accurately record all works carried out onto the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) database in a timely manner.
- Minimum of GCSE level or equivalent in Engineering.
- Served a recognised apprenticeship.
- Current Electricity at Work regulations (IEE) qualification (18th edition preferred).
- High level of Electrical and mechanical experience in site-related work, including experience of HVAC and plumbing.
- City and Guilds Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing.
- GMP documentation knowledge, including quality investigations and completing quality documentation.
- Ability to travel extensively and work nights away from home.
- Level 1 thermography certification.
