Job Title: Data Centre Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our team at Sudlows, a leading technical services company in the UK. As a Data Centre Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres, working on award-winning projects, and collaborating with a forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform planned maintenance, reactive calls, and small electrical installation projects in data centres and other critical environments.
  • Ensure all site facilities system failures are attended to and rectified efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee contractors working onsite, ensuring risk assessments and method statements are in place.
  • Conduct site surveys, gather and present material lists, and labour requirements for quotations.
  • Ensure all tasks carried out adhere to relevant compliances, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of GCSE level or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Served a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Current Electricity at Work regulations (IEE) qualification (18th edition preferred).
  • High level of electrical and mechanical experience in site-related work, including HVAC and plumbing.
  • City and Guilds Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing.
  • GMP documentation knowledge, including quality investigations and completing quality documentation.
Advantageous Qualifications:
  • Level 1 thermography certification.

  • Actively collect first-hand client information and use it to improve services and solutions.
  • Understand how to encourage and influence people to get the best from them.
Communication:
  • Approachable team player who is able to communicate at different levels and situations and influence people.
  • Has good written and numeric skills appropriate to the job and can clearly communicate plans, ideas, and priorities.
