Study Group is a leading international education provider dedicated to helping students worldwide achieve their academic goals. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AES Subject Lead to join our team at the Leeds International Study Centre.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic coordination for designated modules as the Subject Lead, ensuring effective delivery and management of teaching programmes.
- Lead and participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff to contribute to the overall management of programmes and student life cycle.
- Line manage a group of academic tutors, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the design, delivery, and development of modules offered by the centre, ensuring alignment with our education strategy and aims.
- Deliver and assess Academic English provision, preparing module examinations and providing feedback to students.
- Support planning activities, such as timetabling and field trips, to ensure smooth programme delivery.
- Update and maintain the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and the AES online platform, ensuring seamless student experience.
- Work with the centre's Student Experience and academic team to deliver induction, orientation, and registration programmes.
- Liaise with the Progression, Welfare, and Support team to support students in achieving their progression aims.
- Represent the department at external events, such as enhancement and engagement activities with partner universities.
- Engage in scholarly activity to ensure the delivery of modules is current and aligned with industry standards.
- Implement quality assurance procedures at module level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of the programme to achieve high standards.
- Complete sponsor reports and academic reports for students, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
- Take up opportunities for professional development, such as VLE development and peer observation activities.
- Undertake teaching, learning, and assessment observations and associated staff development plans to assure standards within the subject area.
- Perform any other duties as required by the Head of AES and Centre Director, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of students and colleagues.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant teaching qualification, such as DELTA, TEFL, or MA Linguistics.
- Experience of teaching in UK higher or further education, preferably with a teaching qualification and experience working with international students.
