Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Kirkland Associates. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing our financial operations, managing day-to-day accounting activities, and driving robust financial controls and commercial efficiencies.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the preparation and communication of weekly financial KPIs to stakeholders
- Supervise the preparation and publication of monthly financial statements to internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate periodic financial reporting and review of departmental performances, providing challenge, guidance, and feedback to budget holders
- Ensure completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Own the annual budgets and quarterly forecast process covering profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Supervise the preparation of periodic VAT returns
- Oversee the preparation of year-end statutory accounts
- Manage the audit process and liaise with external partners
- Lead cash flow management, forecasting, and delivery of initiatives to optimize cash flow performance
- Manage financial risk, working with other SLT members to create risk mitigation plans
- Hold a full qualification in accountancy, certified through ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
- Mastery of Excel and accountancy databases, with the ability to attain relevant information from different sources
- Develop and deliver functional plans to achieve departmental objectives, utilizing operational analysis, business process efficiencies, digital technology enhancements, and team development
- Contribute to functional strategic development
- Strong leadership skills, with brilliant active listening, creating a culture of giving and receiving feedback, embracing and leading for change
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, juggle priorities, and build and own effective relationships within their working boundary to deliver results
- Ability to look at the bigger picture, think things through, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
