Financial Controller

At Kirkland Associates, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Controller- Supply Chain to join our team. This is a pivotal role that requires strong leadership and analytical skills to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the business.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead the Finance team in managing the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Collaborate with the COO to drive commercial efficiencies and implement changes to improve financial performance.
- Manage the preparation and communication of weekly financial KPIs to stakeholders.
- Supervise the preparation and publication of monthly financial statements to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate the periodic financial reporting and review of departmental performances, providing challenge, guidance, and feedback to budget holders.
- Ensure the completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Own the annual budgets and quarterly forecast process, covering profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Supervise the preparation of periodic VAT returns.
- Oversee the preparation of year-end statutory accounts.
- Manage the audit process and liaise with external partners.
- Lead cash flow management, forecasting, and delivery of initiatives to optimize cash flow performance.
- Manage the financial risk of the company, working with other SLT members to create risk mitigation plans.
- Holds a full qualification in accountancy, certified through ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW.
- Has excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Possesses mastery of Excel and accountancy databases, as well as the ability to attain relevant information from different sources.
- Develops and delivers functional plans to achieve departmental objectives, utilizing operational analysis, business process efficiencies, digital technology enhancements, and team development.
- Contributes to the functional strategic development.
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills and brilliant active listening, creating a culture of giving and receiving feedback, embracing and leading for change.
- Works to tight deadlines and has the ability to juggle priorities.
- Ability to build and own effective relationships within their working boundary to deliver results, challenging where appropriate. Grows relationships internally across different levels and with external stakeholders.
