My client, a thriving business established for over 100 years, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their Finance function. This role offers rapid development opportunities into an FD position, reporting to the COO. As a key member of the Finance team, you will lead and develop the team, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and drive robust financial controls and commercial efficiencies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate the Finance team
  • Lead the preparation and communication of weekly financial KPIs
  • Supervise the preparation and publication of monthly financial statements to internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate periodic financial reporting and review of Departmental performances, providing challenge, guidance, and feedback to budget holders
  • Ensure completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ownership of annual budgets and quarterly forecast process covering PL, BS & CF
  • Supervise preparation of periodic VAT returns
  • Oversee preparation of year-end statutory accounts
  • Manage audit process and liaise with external partners
  • Lead cash flow management, forecasting, and delivery of initiatives to optimise cash flow performance
  • Manage financial risk of the company, working with other SLT members to create risk mitigation plans
Requirements:
  • Holds a full qualification in accountancy, certified through ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
  • Mastery of Excel and accountancy databases, with ability to attain relevant information from different sources
  • Develops and delivers functional plans to deliver required departmental objectives, pulling levers such as operational analysis, business process efficiencies, digital technology enhancements, and team development
  • Contributes to functional strategic development
