Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Clinical Blood Collector to join our team in Mid and South Essex University Hospitals group. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients across various locations, ensuring the smooth operation of our Pathology service.

Main Responsibilities
  • To collect blood samples by Venepuncture and Capillary methods from patients on wards, clinics, and General Practitioners' referrals.
  • To provide Phlebotomy services across the Trust, adhering to high standards of patient care and safety.
  • To communicate testing procedures clearly, making patients feel at ease during the sampling process.
  • To maintain a safe and courteous environment, minimizing distress or discomfort for patients.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A qualification in Healthcare is essential.
  • A valid full UK Driving Licence and own car are required for travel between sites.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective teamwork and patient interaction.
Working Conditions

This role involves working in a dynamic healthcare environment, with opportunities for further training and professional development. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required as part of the hiring process.

Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £23,615 per annum (pro rata for part-time), reflecting the importance of this role in supporting patient care and the smooth operation of our Pathology service.
