Job Summary

The MRI Band 6 Radiographer will play a key role in delivering high-quality imaging services to patients at North Middlesex University Hospital. As an advanced practitioner, you will be responsible for demonstrating expertise in MRI scanning and providing clinical leadership to the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and clinically authorize referrals to radiology in line with MHRA and Nice Guidelines
  • Ensure a high standard of clinical care for patients within the department, including monitoring and ensuring the standard of care delivered by other staff
  • Provide advice to patients regarding their referral and hospital attendance, including suitability to enter the field of a super-conductor magnet
  • Act in the patient's best interests in relation to their MR scans
  • Match the clinical indications presented by the referrer to the most appropriate departmental protocol
  • Operate advanced software on specialist Radiological equipment, requiring excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Review images (own and others) to ensure that appropriate additional sequences are taken prior to the patient leaving the department
  • Ensure that images are presented for reporting purposes in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements
  • BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography
  • HCPC registration
  • NHS experience
  • Postgraduate experience
  • Demonstrable ability to meet Trust values
  • Able to take advice and instruction from others
  • Have an orderly approach to work and be neat and tidy
  • Be able to work under pressure effectively
  • Able to communicate effectively on all levels with patients and staff alike
  • Ability to participate in Standby and flexible working Rota
