Band 6 Locum Occupational Therapist (Mental Health)

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with experience in mental health, to join our team in the Edmonton area on a locum basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an OT looking to work within a forensic inpatient mental health setting, providing crucial support to adult male patients.

Key Details:

* Role: Locum Band 6 Occupational Therapist

* Location: Based in Edmonton, with some work at Enfield (Chase Farm)

* Rate: £27-£29 per hour (DOE)

* Hours: Full-time, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday

* Contract: 3 months (potential to extend based on performance)

* Setting: Onsite, working with adult male patients in a forensic inpatient mental health unit

Responsibilities:

* Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in a secure, forensic mental health setting.

* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement individualized care.

* Support patients in developing skills for greater independence, improving their quality of life and participation in activities.

* Contribute to patient risk assessments, treatment programs, and discharge planning.

Requirements:

* HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with proven experience in mental health, ideally within a forensic or inpatient setting.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a diverse healthcare team.

* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively.

* Ability to work onsite and adhere to local safeguarding and risk management protocols.
