About the Role



The Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team working in the Forensic Secure Inpatient Services in Stafford.



The successful candidate will be a qualified first-level registered nurse (Adult Mental Health) with a Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice. As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide care to service users with complex physical and mental health needs.



Key responsibilities include:





  • Providing autonomous clinical assessment and treatment, demonstrating clinical expertise at an advanced level in both physical and mental health/learning disabilities for patients within the forensic mental health/learning disabilities setting.

  • Taking responsibility for own learning and development by recognising and taking advantage of all opportunities to learn, in line with core professional competencies of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

Person Specification



Essential:





  • Professional regulated core qualification with the NMC/HCPC

  • Postgraduate qualification in NMP and Advanced Health Assessment

  • Relevant Master's level qualification



Desirable:





  • Qualifications in Project Management and/or Quality Improvement

  • Mental health/LD postgraduate qualification

  • Clinical Supervision qualification



Experience:



Essential:





  • Extensive experience in a management/clinical/practitioner leadership role within mental health/LD setting

  • High level of clinical expertise in working with people's mental health/LD

  • Extensive experience of working in mental health/LD services



Desirable:





  • Experience of working in a forensic health or prison setting

  • Experience of service development and transformation

  • Experience of working in a physical health setting



Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities



Essential:





  • Knowledge of current national agenda relating to the NHS, social care sector, and forensic mental health/LD services

  • Ability to involve service users in co-creation and coproduction

  • Knowledge of evidenced-based interventions when working with service users for a variety of presentations



Desirable:





  • Postgraduate psychotherapy evidenced-based practice skills

  • Knowledge of change theory
