We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientific Computing Specialist to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our Scientific Computing Group, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing novel clinical computer software devices, applications, and models within the relevant quality and legislative frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement novel clinical computer software devices, applications, and models within the relevant quality and legislative frameworks.
  • Apply data science methods for the orchestration and analysis of clinical datasets, medical images, and the results of computer simulations.
  • Evaluate, configure, and commission computerised healthcare technology.
  • Work with academics, other scientists, and clinicians, participating in multi-disciplinary research activity.
  • Train others in the field of Scientific Computing.

We have strong academic links with regional universities and collaborate closely with commercial partners in the development, investigation, and evaluation of medical equipment and clinical systems.

Requirements

  • Master level qualification in bioinformatics, computing, medical physics, or clinical engineering or an equivalent qualification backed up with relevant experience working in the field.
  • Registration as a Clinical Scientist or Clinical Technologist or equivalent level of professional standing.
  • Extensive, highly developed computing skills with advanced workmanship standards and skills in design & development.
  • Complex problem-solving and initiative when dealing with issues within own specialist area of competence.
