The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of internal communications professionals within the Directorate of IT Services, working closely with the Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment Directorate, as well as colleagues across the University.

Key responsibilities will include developing and delivering the University's internal communications and engagement strategy, ensuring the production of engaging communications and campaigns, and fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement across the team.

The postholder will also be expected to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve agreed goals, and to manage multiple projects and operations on behalf of the team.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in leading and delivering dynamic internal communications, campaigns, and associated engagement activities.
  • Capacity to think strategically and exercise leadership.
  • Proven record of effectively leading and managing a team, with evidence of setting and achieving clear objectives and performance goals.
  • Experience of working in a large, complex organisation, with a strong understanding of IT systems and their role in supporting service delivery.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence others outside the direct sphere of control.
