Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Nurse to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a specialist nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and support to individuals with haemoglobinopathy disorders.

Key responsibilities include working with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient-focused Haemoglobinopathy services, initiating different forms of treatment, and providing specialist education and training to patients and families.

Main Duties
  1. Provide specialist nursing support to ensure the quality of care provision to adults with haemoglobinopathy disorders.
  2. Work with the multi-professional team to provide patient-focused Haemoglobinopathy services and initiate different forms of treatment.
  3. Provide specialist education, training, and information to patients and families.
  4. Monitor patient condition and be responsible for nursing practice development.
  5. Maintain efficient and effective communication with the multidisciplinary team.
  6. Develop and promote working partnerships between the Trust and academic staff at local universities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have relevant clinical experience, specialist knowledge and experience within the area of haemoglobinopathy, and evidence of autonomous practice.

Additionally, you will need to hold an NMC pin and have evidence of post-registration education and development to Postgraduate level or equivalent level of education, training, or experience.
