This is achieved by translating the requirements of the law/good practice into everyday working policies, procedures, and processes. The HSE Advisor will actively coordinate and undertake a range of internal auditing and monitoring activities to ensure they are robust and in line with both external (Regulatory/Industry) stakeholders and Perenco UK processes and procedures.

The role will be based in our Norwich office, working Monday to Friday. Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively supporting the Assurance Manager in the development and delivery of the PUK-SNS Assurance Programme, ensuring that a sufficient number of audits are undertaken to provide confidence that compliance with our SEMS remains at an acceptable level so as to reduce risks of major accidents, process safety events, and other significant incidents to ALARP.
  • Coordinating risk-based assurance (internal and external), including compliance with legal and other requirements. Monitoring progress and supporting business leaders to deliver their lower-tier assurance plans. Interpreting, communicating, and driving action on trends and insights. Using assurance findings to improve risk management.
  • Supporting the maintenance of relevant auditing tools to collect, analyze, and review performance and effectively communicating the process to sites.
  • Engagement with site management to provide the status/outputs of audits and self-verification findings to identify non-compliance and risk.
  • Reviewing available leading and lagging metrics and insights from internal sources and external data (regulatory/Industry) to ensure the assurance programme is relevant and fit for purpose. Undertaking assurance activities across all sites (onshore and offshore) to establish adherence to company requirements and regulatory standards and legislation, delivering timely reporting of validated data, and identifying actions to improve compliance where necessary.
  • Supporting improvements in the implementation of the Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS). Maintaining registers of the standards and legislation that apply to the business, including an assessment of the compliance status, and initiating improvement programmes as appropriate. Supporting the management of Asset Integrity Management (AIMS) reviews to ensure performance standards are in line with regulatory and industry standards and are fit for purpose.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of relevant statutory provisions, codes, and standards and good practice as they relate to health and safety. They will be able to effectively communicate and drive action on trends and insights, using assurance findings to improve risk management.
