Join Our Ecological Team as a Senior Consultant

We are seeking an experienced ecological consultant to join our team at Mattinson Partnership, a nationally recognized environmental consultancy firm. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled ecologist to expand our 10-man ecology team and contribute to the success of our clients.

About the Role:

  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality ecological services.
  • Conduct thorough ecological surveys, including protected species and UKHabs assessments.
  • Develop comprehensive technical reports, such as Preliminary Environmental Assessments (PEAs), Habitat Regulations Assessments (HRAs), and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs).
  • Provide expert advice to clients and liaise effectively with stakeholders.
  • Carry out botanical and/or ornithological surveys to inform project decisions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a consultancy environment, preferably in ecological consulting.
  • Availability to commute to our office on a regular basis.
  • In-depth knowledge of ecological practices, techniques, and reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and mapping tools.
  • Possession of a full UK driver's license and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable Traits:

  • Holding protected species licenses, particularly bat licenses.
  • Strong understanding and experience with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) procedures.
  • Training in FISC and membership with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  • Project management experience and proficiency in river condition assessment.
