SEND Specialist Tutor Job Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Specialist Tutor to deliver bespoke tuition packages on a 1:1 basis to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Colchester.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and creative tutor to support children and young people with SEND who have been disengaged with their learning. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for these students to thrive and reach their full potential.

As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you will be responsible for creating, planning, and delivering tailored lessons to bridge gaps in the student's education and boost their attainment levels. You will work closely with the student, their family, and our team to develop a personalized learning plan that meets their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 tuition to students with SEND in Colchester
  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to meet the student's needs
  • Work closely with the student, their family, and our team to monitor progress and adjust the learning plan as needed
  • Provide regular feedback and progress reports to the student's family and our team
Requirements
  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEND
  • PECS/Makaton training preferred but not essential
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative learning plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
