About the Role

The Local Government Association is seeking a highly skilled Event Planning Specialist to join our team. As an Event Planning Specialist, you will play a key role in planning and coordinating events that align with our strategic priorities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Coordination

You will be responsible for researching, recommending, organizing, and coordinating events, including budgeting, resource allocation, risk assessments, and generating and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).

Project Management

You will project manage all event logistics, including attending in-person events and online events. For in-person events, this will involve venue setup, signage, audio-visual equipment, and attendee registration. For online events, this will include setting up the webinar platform, facilitating audience registration and sign-in, and providing technical support during the event.

Event Delivery and Evaluation

You will ensure that all events are delivered to a high standard, on budget, and achieve excellent attendance. You will also research and maintain a longlist of relevant external events, conferences, and awards.

Digital Calendar Management

You will maintain digital calendars of internal and external events.

Event Concept Development

You will create compelling event concepts with supporting content that will engage target audiences.

Content Creation

You will amend, design, and create PowerPoint presentations by working with business unit experts and the Marcomms team.

Social Media Content Coordination

You will coordinate and create engaging social media content with an analytic eye to monitor the success of the work.

About You
  • Event Planning Experience

You will have proven experience in an event planning role (2 years).

Creative Problem-Solving

You will have creative and innovative problem-solving ability.

Influencing and Collaboration

You will be able to promote ideas actively and influence initiatives both internally and externally.

Adaptability and Flexibility

You will have a flexible, adaptable, and collaborative style of working.

Social Awareness

You will be socially, politically, and environmentally aware – understanding the external factors that impact on Local Partnerships' objectives.
