The successful candidate will work closely with the Professional Lead for Forensic Clinical Psychology/Head of Service for Complex Care to deliver a high-quality specialist clinical and forensic psychology service to mentally disordered offenders subject to mental health legislation.

This role involves providing psychological assessment, treatment, and evaluation services to patients within the Orchard Clinic medium secure unit and during follow-up care in other settings. The post also requires collaboration with clinical teams, professionals, criminal justice agencies, and non-professional caregivers to provide support and consultation services.

Additionally, the successful applicant will be responsible for teaching, supervising, consulting, and conducting research to enhance the skills of Clinical Psychology trainees and other mental health professionals. They will also contribute to the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service.

Liaising with the Forensic Professional Lead, the candidate will leverage their expertise in audit, policy, and service development to drive meaningful improvements within the organization.

The estimated annual salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This figure is based on national averages for similar roles within the NHS.
