Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Château de Mercuès.

The successful candidate will assist the Maintenance Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including:

  • Awareness of and compliance with all hotel health & safety and fire procedures.
  • Weekly tests of the fire alarm system and recording of results in the compliance diary.
  • Reporting of any identified faults/defects relating to the fire alarm system or emergency lighting.
  • Monthly checks of emergency fire doors and emergency lighting.
  • Adhering to a matrix of planned preventative maintenance, ensuring routine inspections, services, and upgrades are scheduled and carried out when required.
  • Daily audits of front and back of house areas, ensuring all light bulbs are working and vigilant to any maintenance requirements.
  • Maintenance of mechanical equipment, repairing if possible or appointing external contractors if necessary.
  • Basic in-house decorating, joinery, plumbing, and electrical tasks within your own limits of knowledge and skill.
  • Daily liaison with the Housekeeping department to ensure all maintenance requirements are logged and completed in a timely manner.
  • Completion of daily task list for Reception at the end of the shift.
  • Proper use and storage of chemicals/products within the maintenance department, following COSHH regulations.
