Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

The Sterling Choice is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.
  • Investigate and resolve equipment breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on plant and equipment, both during and outside of production hours.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reduce downtime.

Requirements:

  • Formal engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or higher, in an electrical or mechanical subject.
  • Nationally recognized apprenticeship in an engineering discipline would be an advantage.
  • 16th / 17th or 18th Edition Certification.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
