**Summary**:
The Shift Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the factory by promptly resolving breakdowns and conducting essential maintenance tasks. Additionally, they are tasked with driving improvements across various aspects of the site, including machinery, hygiene, quality, and overall performance.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct reactive and proactive maintenance tasks to uphold the highest standards throughout the entire facility.
- Respond promptly to on-site breakdowns, ensuring mínimal downtime for plant equipment and machinery.
- Efficiently perform repairs during production, either independently or as part of a team.
- Implement planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules with a proactive approach to minimize downtime.
- Achieve maintenance KPIs through strategic planning and execution of maintenance activities.
- Lead improvement initiatives related to machinery and overall site enhancements.
- Ensure effective time management to minimize engineering downtime.
- Enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

**Health & Safety, Food Safety, and GMP**:

- Maintain tools and equipment in a safe condition and ensure a secure working environment.
- Adhere to technical procedures and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) at all times.
- Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards in compliance with company policies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.

**Miscellaneous**:

- Maintain a daily engineering report log.
- Assist with stock control and organization of the stores.
- Coordinate effectively with external contractors.
- Operate the effluent treatment plant when necessary.
- Willingly acquire new skills and provide training when required.
- Represent the Engineering department in production meetings and foster effective communication within the team.
- Cultivate positive relationships with Production Managers.
- Uphold a professional demeanor and positive image of the Engineering department.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
- Possession of 17th or 18th Edition Certification.
- Proactive approach to fault finding and continuous improvement.
- Capable of working independently with initiative.
- Team player with a practical attitude.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in MS Office and PPM systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings/manuals.
- Logical and flexible in approach.
- Strong decision-making abilities.

**Education and Experience**:

- Exposure to equipment such as metal detectors, mixers, depositors, and flow wrappers is advantageous.
- Extensive experience in analysing and addressing breakdowns.

**Shift Pattern**:

- Week 1: Nights (6 pm - 6 am) - Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs (5 days off)
- Week 2: Days (6 am - 6 pm) - Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat (4 days off)
- Week 3: Days (6 am - 6 pm) - Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun (5 days off)
- Week 4: Days (6 am - 6 pm) - Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon (4 days off)
- Week 5: Days (6 am - 6 pm) - Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed (4 days off)

**Remuneration**:

- Salary: £46,000 per annum
- Statutory pension
