Job Overview

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist Therapist to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse clients and contribute to the development of clinical services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological therapy assessments, formulations, and interventions for clients with complex needs.
  • Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessing, treating, and discharging community clients under standard care plans.
  • Develop culturally appropriate therapy interventions for carers or families of referred clients.
  • Conduct psychometric and neuropsychological testing, including administering, scoring, and interpreting test results.
  • Assess, monitor, and manage client risks according to Trust policies and procedures.
  • Implement outcome measurement as required by the local service.
  • Participate in psychological therapies and directorate meetings.
Team and Service Contributions
  • Lead the family and carers strategy for the Directorate under senior psychologist supervision.
  • Deliver accessible services to diverse communities and utilize evidence-based literature and research.
  • Work within relevant policies and procedures for safe service operation.
Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement
  • Implement clinical governance standards and maintain high-quality services according to Trust and government guidelines.
  • Undertake quality improvement projects and ensure engagement of service users in planning and delivering services.
Management and Supervision
  • Provide line management to pre-qualified staff and supervise students and trainees.
  • Support recruitment of psychological therapies staff and oversee quality line management and supervision.
  • Ensure staff competencies are assessed and evaluated, contributing to healthcare effectiveness.
Teaching and Training
  • Provide specialist clinical placements for students and trainees in applied psychological practice.
  • Contribute to teaching and training for psychological practitioners and other professions.
  • Maintain awareness of current developments in psychological therapy and risk assessment, implementing knowledge gained in practice.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The position also offers a range of benefits, including access to continuing professional development opportunities and a supportive working environment.
